I’m sure y’all have heard this from folks wiser than you and me: “What goes around, comes around.”

We can protest, we can boycott, we can battle with letters to CEOs.  We pray our hearts out and ask God Almighty to do something.  Those of us who have voices speaking out against the gun industry and the NRA sometimes feel its a losing battle.  Take heart.

(Reuters) – Remington Outdoor Company Inc, one of the largest U.S. makers of firearms, has reached out to banks and credit investment funds in search of financing that will allow it to file for bankruptcy, people familiar with the matter said on Thursday. REUTERS

Remington, which is controlled by buyout firm Cerberus Capital Management LP, was abandoned by some of Cerberus’ private equity fund investors after one of its Bushmaster rifles was used in the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting in Connecticut in 2012 that killed 20 children and six adults. Remington’s sales plunged 27 percent in the first nine months of 2017, resulting in a $28 million operating loss.

I guess those 2nd Amendment folks aren’t as skeered as they were under President Obama.  They no longer fear the bogeyman is gonna come knocking on their doors to collect guns.  They ain’t buying guns anymore.  Nope, all they have to worry about now is the neo-Fascist boys in Washington, D.C.  Sorry, fellas.  Y’all ain’t got enough guns stashed in your closets or in your deep woods arsenals to stop an authoritarian President and his fascist cronies.

But, let’s see this as a small victory for us.  Remington sales had dropped so significantly that investors shied away from pumping money into a corporation responsible for the murder of 26 people.  YessireeBob.  There is justice in our Almighty’s world.

President Donald Trump has said he will “never, ever infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms.”  REUTERS

Mr. Trump, you and your boys can “never, ever” all you want.  As for me, I’ll be infringing every chance I get.
